Pavement patching complete on westbound I-70 in Wayne County

Eastbound patching scheduled sooner with a shorter duration expected

Asphalt pavement patching is complete on a portion of westbound I-70 in Wayne County. Both westbound lanes are open to traffic from west of Centerville to U.S. 35.

Crews have updated plans for the patching work on eastbound lanes of I-70 to minimize impacts to motorists. Work will be limited to the right lane of eastbound I-70, from Mile Marker 145 to Mile Marker 149.

Scheduled to begin around 6 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24 and end by 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, the right lane of the nearly 4-mile corridor will be closed to traffic. The ramp from Centerville Road to eastbound I-70 will also close to accommodate patching work. The work is weather dependent.

Next week’s expedited work schedule means the two weeks of single-lane restrictions planned for December on eastbound I-70 will not be necessary. Some overnight closures are expected later in December for shoulder strengthening and other work. Details will be shared closer to date.

Additional Overnight Work Scheduled for Next Week
Crews will continue soil boring work overnight next week in preparation for construction activities beginning in early 2025 on I-70 from west of U.S. 35 to the Ohio state line.

Work is anticipated overnight Monday, Nov. 25 and Tuesday, Nov. 26. Single-lane overnight lane restrictions and shoulder closures will move as operations progress. Drivers should watch for signage as work advances to multiple locations along the interstate.

Anticipated schedules are subject to change based on weather and other factors.
