Temporary closure of S.R. 1 ramps also scheduled to begin
Eastbound I-70 is scheduled to be reduced to one lane between Brick Church Road and Centerville Road this weekend from 10 p.m. Friday, May 29 until 10 a.m. Sunday, May 31. Significant back-ups and delays are expected. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes when possible. There will be no access to State Road 1 to and from eastbound I-70 during the closure.
This is the second of three weekend closures needed on this section of I-70 to shift traffic and prepare for additional construction with pavement and bridges being improved along the corridor. The final weekend closure is scheduled for June 5 with the same closures in place.
State Road 1 Temporary Ramp Closures to Begin This Weekend
The S.R. 1 ramps to and from eastbound I-70 are expected to close on or after Sunday, May 31. This will be up to a 60-day closure to allow for the ramp to be rehabilitated and reconstructed. Drainage work and resurfacing are also planned. A signed detour will be in place. Drivers can use Wilbur Wright Road to access eastbound I-70. To access S.R. 1 from eastbound I-70, drivers can take Centerville Road (Exit 145) to S.R. 1.

Restrictions This Week
The following restrictions are expected for the rest of this week as work progresses on the I-70 corridor:
Wednesday, May 27 – Saturday, May 30 (8 p.m. to 7 a.m.)
- Eastbound I-70 reduced to one lane from Brick Church Road to Centerville Road
