Overhead sign and other work planned this week on I-70

Work continues on the Revive I-70 corridor in Wayne County this week, including relocating an overhead sign on eastbound I-70 near U.S. 40.

Drivers can expect the following:

Monday, May 5

  • Short (20-minute) rolling slowdowns on eastbound I-70 from U.S. 27 to U.S. 40 (around midnight)
  • One lane of eastbound I-70 closed from mile marker 155 to westbound U.S. 40/Exit 156A (8 p.m. to 7 a.m.)
  • Ramp from eastbound I-70 to westbound U.S. 40/Exit 156A closed (8 p.m. to 7 a.m.)

Tuesday, May 6 through Friday, May 9

  • Eastbound I-70 shoulder closures near mile marker 155 (7 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

Wednesday, May 7

  • One lane of westbound I-70 closed from U.S. 27 to Clear Creek bridge (8 p.m. to 7 a.m.)
    • Rolling slowdown may be needed to move equipment (around 1 a.m.)

All closures and restrictions are weather dependent.

Delays Anticipated

Necessary traffic restrictions will cause delays on I-70. Drivers should plan ahead and use alternate routes, when possible.

Construction Speed Limit Now Active

The construction zone speed limit is now active on I-70. A reduced speed of 55 mph is in place for the duration of Revive I-70 work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
