Overhead sign work to begin along I-70 corridor

Overnight restrictions expected the next several weeks

Crews will begin relocating overhead signs on the Revive I-70 corridor in Wayne County this week. Crews will work to relocate large, overhead signs in multiple locations from west of U.S. 35 to the Ohio state line. Activity will begin in the eastbound lanes and follow in the westbound lanes.

The following closures will be necessary during the first night of work each week:

  • One to two short (20-minute) rolling slowdowns (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
  • Inside lane of westbound I-70 closed during eastbound work (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
  • Outside lane of eastbound I-70 closed during westbound work (8 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

For the remainder of each week, crews will install temporary signage under the following restrictions:

  • Daytime shoulder closures (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Work in eastbound lanes is scheduled to begin overnight Monday, Feb. 3, and last about three weeks; one week at each location. Work in westbound lanes will follow. Watch this short video for an overview of planned activities.
