Overnight lane and ramp restrictions planned on I-70 for pavement patching

Pavement patching is planned on the Revive I-70 corridor in Wayne County this week with several overnight lane and ramp closures needed.

Patching operations will improve current pavement conditions until replacement occurs from west of U.S. 35 to the Ohio state line as part of the Revive I-70 project.

Here’s what to expect this week:

  • Overnight Monday, April 7, through Saturday, April 12
    • Patching work with short-term, mobile lane closures on eastbound I-70 from U.S. 27 to the Ohio state line
  • Overnight Monday, April 7
    • Ramp from U.S. 35 to eastbound I-70 closed
  • Overnight Tuesday, April 8
    • Ramp from S.R. 227 to eastbound I-70 closed
  • Overnight Wednesday, April 9
    • Ramps to and from eastbound U.S. 40 to eastbound I-70 closed
  • Overnight, Thursday, April 10
    • Ramps to and from westbound U.S. 40 to eastbound I-70 closed

All overnight, weekday closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Anticipated schedules are weather dependent.

Delays Anticipated
Necessary traffic restrictions will cause delays on I-70. Drivers should plan ahead and use alternate routes, when possible.

Construction Speed Limit Now Active
The construction zone speed limit is now active on I-70. A reduced speed of 55 mph is in place for the duration of Revive I-70 work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
