Shoulder strengthening progresses on I-70 this week, and preconstruction activities are beginning in the western portion of the project corridor. Drivers can expect the following traffic impacts:
Monday, June 23
- Overnight lane closure on eastbound I-70 from S.R. 121 to U.S. 40
- Overnight lane closure on westbound I-70 from U.S. 40 to S.R. 121
Monday, Monday, June 23 through Thursday, June 26
- Overnight lane closure on westbound I-70 from U.S. 40 to S.R. 227
- Overnight closures on westbound I-70 ramps to and from U.S. 40
Monday, June 23 through Friday, June 27
- Overnight lane closure from S.R. 227 to U.S. 40 to install barrier wall
The closures above are scheduled between 8 p.m. and 7 a.m. each night.
Friday, June 27 and Saturday, June 28
- Overnight, intermittent single lane closures on eastbound and westbound I-70 from west of S.R. 1 to west of Centerville between 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday
Monday, June 30
- Intermittent shoulder closures on eastbound and westbound I-70 from west of S.R. 1 to west of Centerville between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
Cardinal Greenway Trail Closure
The Cardinal Greenway Trail is scheduled to close on or after Monday, June 30 for work associated with the Revive I-70 project and remain closed until late this year. The trail will end at Wayne Road for trail users traveling from the north toward the closure, and it will end at Industries Road for trail users traveling from the south.
Construction Speed Limit Now Active
The construction zone speed limit is now active on I-70. A reduced speed of 55 mph is in place for the duration of Revive I-70 work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
