Shoulder strengthening work on the Revive I-70 corridor in Wayne County is continuing this week, along with other activities.
Here’s what to expect:
- Overnight Monday, March 17
- Patching work with short-term, mobile closures from U.S. 27 to west of U.S. 35
- Overnight Monday, March 17 through Saturday, March 22
- Single-lane closed on eastbound I-70 from Round Barn Road to Ohio state line
- Ramps from eastbound I-70 to and from northbound U.S. 35 closed
- Overnight Monday, March 17 through Friday, March 21
- Single-lane closed on westbound I-70 from U.S. 27 to west of U.S. 35 to install temporary barrier wall

Traffic Shifts
Two minor traffic shifts are expected this week to shift traffic closer to the outside shoulder to accommodate the start of construction.
- Overnight Tuesday, March 18
- Westbound I-70 traffic from U.S. 27 to west of U.S. 35 shifts
- Overnight Thursday, March 20
- Eastbound I-70 traffic from Round Barn Road to just east of U.S. 27 shifts
Shifting traffic to the outside allows crews more room to work and build the new, inside lanes of I-70. Lane and shoulder widths will be reduced within the work zone.
All overnight, weekday closures are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Anticipated schedules are subject to change based on weather and other factors.
Construction Speed Limit Now Active
The construction zone speed limit is now active on I-70. A reduced speed of 55 mph is in place for the duration of Revive I-70 work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions.
