Shoulder strengthening continues along I-70 corridor

Shoulder strengthening work is continuing on I-70, preparing for the start of construction from west of State Road 1 to west of Centerville.

Here’s what drivers can expect:

Tuesday, Sept. 2 – Wednesday, Sept. 3

  • Overnight lane closure on westbound I-70 from Washington Road to Brick Church Road; closures scheduled from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night

Thursday, Sept. 4 and Friday, Sept. 5

  • Overnight lane closure on eastbound I-70 from Brick Church Road to Washington Road; closures scheduled from 8 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday and 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday.

Saturday, Sept. 6

  • Overnight lane closure on eastbound I-70 from Washington Road to Centerville Road; closure scheduled from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday.

All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

Construction Speed Limit
The construction zone speed limit remains active on I-70. A reduced speed of 55 mph is in place for the duration of Revive I-70 work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
