Traffic Shift on Eastbound I-70
Drivers will notice a minor traffic shift on eastbound I-70 from S.R. 227 to U.S. 40 to move traffic closer to the outside shoulder. The shift is planned overnight Monday, June 16 through Wednesday, June 18. Shifting traffic will accommodate construction and give crews more room to work and build the new, inside lanes of I-70 while maintaining two lanes of traffic in each direction. Lane and shoulder widths will be reduced within the work zone.
Work Beginning West of Centerville
Revive I-70 progress is expanding. Preconstruction activities are beginning in the western portion of the project area, from west of S.R. 1 to west of Centerville. Pavement rehabilitation and bridge improvements are planned for the nearly nine-mile corridor.
Intermittent shoulder closures are expected to begin on or after Sunday, June 22 and last about two weeks. Work is expected 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Crews are investigating underground utilities in preparation for the start of construction later this year.
Cardinal Greenway Trail Closure
The Cardinal Greenway Trail is scheduled to close on or after Monday, June 30 for work associated with the Revive I-70 project and remain closed until late this year. The trail will end at Wayne Road for trail users traveling from the north toward the closure, and it will end at Industries Road for trail users traveling from the south.
Construction Speed Limit Now Active
The construction zone speed limit is now active on I-70. A reduced speed of 55 mph is in place for the duration of Revive I-70 work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
