Shoulder strengthening progresses along I-70 corridor

Shoulder strengthening, setting barrier wall and pavement striping are some of the activities on I-70 this week as part of the Revive I-70 improvements. Drivers can also expect some slight lane shifts to move traffic to new pavement.

Overnight restrictions are planned as follows:

Monday, Sept. 8

  • Lane closure on westbound I-70 from Washington Road to Brick Church Road

Monday, Sept. 8 and Tuesday, Sept. 9

  • Lane closure on eastbound I-70 from Brick Church Road to S.R. 1

Tuesday, Sept. 9 and Wednesday, Sept. 10

  • Lane closure on eastbound I-70 from Brick Church Road to Washington Road

Wednesday, Sept. 10 and Thursday, Sept. 11

  • Lane closure on eastbound I-70 from S.R. 227 to S.R. 121
  • Nightly closures on the ramp from eastbound U.S. 40 to eastbound I-70

Wednesday, Sept. 10, Thursday, Sept. 11 and Friday, Sept. 12

  • Lane closure on eastbound I-70 from S.R. 1 to Washington Road Wednesday and Thursday and 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday

Thursday, Sept. 11

  • Lane closure on eastbound I-70 from Washington Road to Centerville Road

All closures are 8 p.m. to 7 a.m., unless otherwise noted. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.

Construction Speed Limit
The construction zone speed limit remains active on I-70. A reduced speed of 55 mph is in place for the duration of Revive I-70 work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
