Temporary lane and ramp closures, rolling slowdowns planned on I-70

Crews continue to install barrier wall on I-70 to provide protection for crews during construction. Demolition and utility work are also scheduled over the next week.  

Drivers can expect the following traffic impacts as work progresses: 

Sunday, June 1 (7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. for relocation of overhead power lines) 

  • Rolling slowdown on eastbound I-70 from Centerville Road to Union Pike 
  • Rolling slowdown on westbound I-70 from S.R. 227 to Union Pike 
  • Ramp from northbound U.S. 35 to eastbound I-70 closed 
  • Ramp from southbound U.S. 27 to westbound I-70 closed 

Monday, June 2 (8 p.m. to 7 a.m. to move construction equipment) 

  • Overnight lane closure on westbound I-70 from U.S. 27 to Union Pike 
  • Rolling slowdown on westbound I-70 from S.R. 227 to Union Pike 
  • Short-term closure of ramp from southbound U.S. 27 to westbound I-70 closed 

Monday, June 2 through Sunday, June 8 (8 p.m. to 7 a.m. to install barrier wall) 

  • Overnight lane closure on westbound I-70 from Smyrna Road to U.S. 27 

All closures and restrictions are weather dependent.  

Construction Speed Limit Now Active  

The construction zone speed limit is now active on I-70. A reduced speed of 55 mph is in place for the duration of Revive I-70 work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
