S.R. 1 ramps to reopen this weekend
The right lane of eastbound I-70 is moving to new pavement as crews begin work on a new phase of the project. The shift extends for nearly nine miles, from west of State Road (S.R.) 1 to west of Centerville Road.
Shifting traffic will allow crews to complete the pavement restoration work on the inside lane. Eastbound I-70 traffic is expected to return to normal configuration by the end of the year.
Overnight Restrictions This Week
Overnight restrictions are scheduled this week to move barrier walls and prepare for the traffic shift.
Monday, August 3 – Thursday, August 6 (8 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night)
- Eastbound I-70 reduced to one lane from Brick Church Road to Centerville Road
Friday, August 7 (10 p.m. Friday – 10 a.m. Saturday)
- Eastbound I-70 reduced to one lane from Brick Church Road to Centerville Road
The traffic shift is expected to be completed by 10 a.m. on Saturday.
S.R. 1 Ramps Reopening
The S.R. 1 ramps to and from eastbound I-70 are also expected to reopen on or after 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 8. Crews rehabilitated and reconstructed the ramps during the temporary closure.
Construction Speed Limit
The construction zone speed limit remains active on I-70. A reduced speed of 55 mph is in place for the duration of Revive I-70 work. It is important for drivers to slow down and avoid distractions in work zones.
