Traffic To Shift to New Roadway
Traffic on eastbound I-70 is moving to new roadway this weekend as crews begin work on a new phase of the project. The shift extends from west of U.S. 35 to S.R. 227. Both lanes of eastbound I-70 are moving to the new lanes of I-70 that have been constructed in the median. The lanes will be divided by a barrier wall.
Both lanes of eastbound I-70 are expected to shift to new roadway by Monday, April 27. There will be closures and restrictions this weekend to prepare to move traffic. Shifting traffic will allow crews to begin pavement replacement work and other improvements on the existing lanes of eastbound I-70.
Weekend Lane Closures Scheduled in May
Weekend lane restrictions are scheduled in May on a section of eastbound I-70 to shift traffic and prepare for improvements on the corridor. Pavement is being rehabilitated and bridges are being improved.
