U.S. 35 lane restrictions beginning this week

Lane closures to begin this weekend on eastbound I-70

Temporary lane restrictions are beginning this week on a one-mile section of U.S. 35. On or after Monday, May 4, U.S. 35 will be reduced to a single lane in each direction from Industries Road to Salisbury Road.

The lane restrictions will be in place through the end of the year. The restrictions are needed for temporary widening work and to strengthen pavement in the area. This will allow crews to later shift traffic to accommodate construction and improvements at U.S. 35.

Weekend Lane Closures Scheduled in May
Weekend lane restrictions are scheduled in May on a section of eastbound I-70 to shift traffic and prepare for improvements on the corridor. Pavement is being rehabilitated and bridges are being improved.

Eastbound I-70 is expected to be reduced to one lane between Brick Church Road and Centerville Road the weekends of May 8, May 15, and May 29. The closures are expected to be in place each Friday around 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. the following Monday. There will be no access to State Road 1 to and from I-70 during weekend closures.

Significant back-ups and delays are expected. Drivers are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes when possible.

Restrictions This Week
Union Pike at the I-70 overpass is scheduled to close nightly between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. beginning Monday, May 4 through Friday, May 8 for bridge demolition work.
