Weekend closure postponed on section of eastbound I-70
Ramps to and from westbound I-70 at the Williamsburg Pike interchange closed today (Friday, May 15). They are scheduled to reopen by late July. Signed detours are in place.

During the closure, the flyover ramp from Williamsburg Pike to westbound I-70 will be demolished, and crews will build the two roundabouts at the improved U.S. 35 interchange. Roundabouts will improve safety and traffic flow, and removing the loop ramps will eliminate the weaving movements from entrance and exit ramps.
Traffic Shift at U.S. 35
In addition to the temporary ramp closures at Williamsburg Pike, drivers will notice a shift in traffic near the U.S. 35 interchange. Both lanes of U.S. 35 (currently reduced to one northbound and one southbound lane) have shifted to the side of the road that typically carries northbound traffic. This configuration is expected to be in place through late July as crews complete interchange improvements.
Weekend Closure on I-70 Postponed
With rain in the forecast, the weekend lane restriction scheduled on eastbound I-70 has been postponed. The next closure is scheduled for the weekend of May 29. One additional weekend closure will follow to complete the work.
The weekend lane closures extend from Brick Church Road to Centerville Road to prepare this section of I-70 for additional construction with pavement and bridges being improved along the corridor.
S.R. 1 Ramps to Close in June
The State Road 1 ramps to and from eastbound I-70 are expected to close on or after Monday, June 1. This will be up to a 60-day closure to allow for construction in the area. A signed detour will be in place.
